Orienteering does not always have to take place in the woods. The Ramblers club has organized an annual Street-O event – typically the first event in the spring season – for some time now. Course setter John Charlow carefully selects particularly labyrinthine suburbs (this year in Pierrefonds, 2008 in Dollard-des-Ormeaux, both in Montréal’s West Island) that offer unique challenges to orienteers. Here the results from the 2010 event in Pierrefonds.
Above course #2 from the Stree-O in Pierrefonds, April 25 2010, with the route by Andreas Rutkauskas. He finished first with a winning time of 0:39:10. The fastest women was Jessica Auer, 0:50:44 her finishing time.
In 2008, the event took place in Dollard-des-Ormeaux.
